Risk Assessment of Heat Stroke during the Marathon of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Sapporo, Hokkaido

A marathon is a grueling endurance race, and runners are at risk of heatstroke. Therefore, the thermal environment course should be accurately assessed. Solar radiation, factor in environment, particularly affected by surrounding environment. In this study, we proposed method to calculate wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) short period time using geographic information system (GIS) data, considering changes solar radiation. WBGT used as an indicator heat stroke. This was assess stroke due weather conditions, span time, location on Tokyo 2020 Olympics. According analysis results, Sapporo, trees buildings can suppress about 2 °C, but days when average exceeded 26 21 °C from 5:00 13:00. On contrary, even August, hottest month year, there were almost always below other words, it concluded that reduced if held accordance with conditions day. addition, mapping identifying locations where little change attenuated WBGT, possible identify improved.
